Shanghai’s epidemic spread to Kunshan starting from April 2 this year. Kunshan was forced to enter a period of silence, which means that the “pause button” for all the enterprises, entertainment venues and motor vehicle traffics was pressed down starting from April 3, 2022.
During this period, the Company maintained active communication with the local government to master the latest information and obtained the qualification for shipment in a fastest speed on April 14. Some of our customers could pick up goods for their shipments. At the same time, after various negotiations, on April 20 the Company finally obtained the first batch of approvals for closed-loop resumption of work and production in Kunshan City on the basis of making an emergency response plan for epidemic prevention. And only employees lived in the Zhoushi area were allowed to resume work in a closed-loop manner. According to the business requirements, finally a total of 204 employees actively responded to the Company’s call for resumption of work and production by bring their luggage to the factory dormitory to start the work and production resumption on April 21.
During the closed-loop resumption of work and production, the senior officers were accommodated together with employees in the factory, and they led the employees to actively participate in production under the situation that there was a serious shortage of personnel and life there was extremely difficult and inconvenient. At the same time, the employees spontaneously organized and used their free time to cut the grass on the lawn and clean the leaves in the Company, in a bid to create a comfortable and clean environment for everyone as far as possible. All the employees were united as one, preventing and fighting against the epidemic together! In addition, during the closed-loop period, Deputy General Manager Mr. XU personally led the cadres to have regular meetings of various business departments to confirm and share information on the epidemic situation, dormitory life and production safety. The resumption of work and production has gradually stepped into the regularity. This will make foolproof preparations for the full resumption of work and production on May 7.

Due to the great impact of the Suzhou and Shanghai epidemics on Kunshan, in order to reflect the corporate culture of “Respect the Nature, Love People”, the Company specially provided Kunshan government with support for the epidemic prevention work, and donated the epidemic prevention materials of RMB 500,000.00 after listening to the government's advice.
At the donation ceremony, the general manager of Starlite represented the Company's chairman to deliver a speech, in which he said that that these materials donated are expected to play a key role in the future EP countermeasures. At the same time, he sincerely hoped that the disaster caused by the epidemic will not expand, and the impact of the epidemic will end at an early date and that Chinese people’s life and economic activities could resume to the normality. The 2022 congratulatory ceremony was held on February 7. At the beginning of the ceremony, everyone recited “The Heart of Starlite” together, and then the chairman made a video speech. The chairman extended his New Year's greetings to all the employees and their families, emphasizing that in 2022, for Starlite, the seeds of “new steps” that have been sown for a long time have begun to sprout and should be made into the pillar of its new business. The sixth rope jumping competition of Starlite was held on November 26, 2021 on the south of the warehouse of fine chemical logistics. A total of six teams participated: four teams from the Fine Chemical Dept.; one team from High Performance Product Dept.; one team from Common Dept.
The competition process was very intense and exciting. The “Super Invincible” team of the High Performance won the first place overwhelmingly with a total of 44 continuous jumps, followed by the “Create Brilliance Again” team of the Fine Chemical with the result of 32 jumps. What made the competition more wonderful was that the third place had to be decided by an extra PK (player killing) between the “Climb the Peak” team of the Fine Chemical and the “Strive for Progress” team of the common department, both of which attained 30 jumps within the normal competition time. The competition between the two teams was also a wonderful highlight of this competition. First, the gestures of “stone, scissors and cloth” was played to determine which team to jump first. As a result, the “C limb the Peak” team jumped first. Because they consumed too much physical energy in the previous competition, the “Climb the Peak” team lost, and the “Strive for Progress” team won the third place that was not easily achieved.
Through this rope-jumping activity, the collaborative and cooperative spirit between colleagues and departments are fully embodied and also the striving and selfless fighting spirit of all the participating employees is expressed clearly. On Tuesday, November 02, 2021, the 2021 Release Meeting of Small Group Improvement Event was held. There was a total of 15 groups participated in this year’s Small Group Improvement Event at the beginning of this year. After efforts made by various groups and release and selection of candidates at the business department level, six groups were recommended to attend this company-level release meeting.
Following the intensive and wonderful release of various groups and the final assessment by the judge panel, it was determined that: the first prize goes to the Purchase Section, the second prize goes to Section 2 of the Fine Chemical Production and the third prize goes to Production Section 2 of High-performance Product Department. Finally, the deputy general manager made his comments on the release of this small group improvement event: the event should raise questions about the shortcomings in our daily business and generate new improvement ideas, and then propose improvement measures and continue to promote itself. From May 20 to 22, 2021, Starlite attended the Chengdu International Trade Fair for Automotive Parts and Aftermarket Services (CAPAS), which is the most influent one of its kind in the Western Region of China. With the promotion of the Great Openness in the Region and the establishment of the New Silk Road Economic Belt, more and more attention from the industrial sector is gradually focusing on the region where there is a great development potential. There were approximately 612 enterprise exhibitors and more than 18,000 visitors.
Exhibited at the Fair were the “Tribology” - study of friction - as our core technology, the S-bear material with new functionality, and its product series such as precision gears, sealing plates for air conditioner compressors, etc. Through the exchange and communication with the automotive sector in the southwestern Chengdu-Chongqing region, we learned that although there are many ordinary injection molding manufacturers in the region, there are fewer mid-to-high-end precision injection molding ones, particularly only scarce factories for precision gears and high-end material molding.
During the exhibition, we received a total of 29 enterprises, of which seven showed their intention, mainly for the friction and high temperature resistance products used in motor vehicles. And subsequently we can have further communication with them and begin the product feasibility study. There are also some other enterprises to be kept in touch, thereby realizing timely and accurate communication when they need our products.
